Iwata Jam was an online game jam that ran for a week as a remembrance of the late Satoru Iwata. As I was beginning to get slightly 'burnt out' from focusing on a larger project, I wanted to spend a short time working on something new and decided to do my first game jam. The resulting game from that is below.
The game is called Legacy Kid and the concept is that it tells the story of a boy who is given different games by Satoru Iwata in the 3 days leading up to his death. Each game within Legacy Kid is a mini-game version of a game that Mr. Iwata had worked on earlier in his career (Balloon Fight, Kirby, and EarthBound). I wrote all the code, wrote and recorded all the music/sounds, and created most of the art (with additional credits given to a helpful hand!); all within the jam time using Unity 5 as my development platform. In total, though this was a weeklong game jam, I spent a total of about 15-20 hours on it.
Enjoy!
